Fantasy Football 2020: Here's where Bears skill players are being drafted

Share

The Chicago Bears offense is being avoided by fantasy football players across the country. After a down year in 2019 and with a quarterback competition featuring two underwhelming options in Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles, it's easy to understand why.

The top skill players for the Bears entering 2020 are pretty obvious: Allen Robinson (WR), David Montgomery (RB), Tarik Cohen (RB), and Anthony Miller (WR). Tight ends Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet will be rostered, and Ted Ginn is worth a late-round gamble.

But where are each of them going in fantasy drafts right now?

Here's the current ADP (average draft position) for each of the Bears' skill players according to FantasyPros.com:

Robinson: WR14 (overall: 39)

Montgomery: RB23 (overall: 49)

Cohen: RB43 (overall: 145)

Miller: WR55 (overall: 130)

Ginn: undrafted

Graham: TE33 (overall: 258)

Kmet: TE26 (overall: n/a)

Trubisky: QB34 (overall: 289)

Foles: QB33 (overall: 281)

It's interesting to see how close Trubisky and Foles rank in fantasy football. It's also pretty depressing that neither is expected to be worth a roster spot.

The player with the most upside is Robinson, and it isn't particularly close. His 96 catches for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns last season proved he's regained his pre-injury form, and with better quarterback play in 2020, he should have little trouble topping his yards and touchdown totals.

Montgomery has the potential to be a league-winner based on where he's being drafted right now. His status as a low-end RB2 could quickly flip to being an RB1 if he shoulders as much of a workload as expected this year. He has a chance to be a discount version of Ezekiel Elliott because of his powerful running style and ability to contribute as a receiver out of the backfield.

We'll continue to monitor the Bears' fantasy football status throughout the summer.
