The Bears kicker competition was the focus of the entire offseason in Chicago, and after months of quirky challenges and a back-and-forth preseason, Eddy Pineiro was the last man standing.
In Thursday night's opener against the Packers, Pineiro nailed his first attempt -- 38 yards right down the middle.
There's some poetic justice for Pineiro, who after months of anxiety, stress and pressure, can now proudly say he's responsible for the first points scored in 2019.
