Kyle Long's social media reflections make it seem like he may retire

The end of the year is a time for reflection for everyone and Bears offensive linemen Kyle Long is no exception.

Long took to Twitter today to reflect on his humble beginnings as a junior college student deciding to play football.

While this may seem like an innocuous enough tweet, especially considering this new year is ringing in a new decade, it has led some fans to speculate that Long is contemplating retirement.

Long has been on IR since Week 5 against the Oakland Raiders, finishing his fourth straight season on IR. He had been tweeting earlier this month about feeling upset about his IR status and how he’d been playing.

The 31 year-old guard has been with the Bears since 2013. The Bears have an option on Long in 2020 and after missing a total of 34 games over the past four seasons, it seems likely Long will have to take pay cut to return to Chicago.

But with Long continuing to be cryptic on social media, Bears fans will be left wondering more about his future.
