Lions stun Bears with big 4th quarter in Madden '21 sim

The 2020 season kicks off for the Bears this Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit, and that means NBC Sports Chicago is back with weekly Madden ‘21 simulations.

The virtual Bears came out firing. David Montgomery opened the scoring with a touchdown, and then Mitch Trubisky found Anthony Miller for another score as the Bears scored touchdowns on each of their first two possessions of the game. Matt Nagy's group was feeling good, and took a 14-6 lead into halftime.

However, it was unfortunately a different story in the 2nd half, as turnovers proved costly for Chicago. On consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter, the Lions returned Trubisky and Tarik Cohen fumbles for touchdowns. Later on, a Trubisky interception set up Detroit with great field position that led to another score. All in all, the Lions stunned the Bears and their vaunted defense with a 23-0 run to end the game.

The Bears lose a tough one to the Lions in the simulated season opener by a final score of 35-17. Let's hope their real-life counterparts have better luck at noon this Sunday.
