New clue points to Tom Brady testing free-agent market

New England Patriots quarterback and soon-to-be free agent Tom Brady will be connected to every team that's a quarterback away from a deep playoff run in 2020. This includes the Bears, regardless of how far-fetched the idea of Brady playing in Chicago might be.

Before the wishful thinking has any chance of becoming a reality, Brady must first decide whether he wants to return to the Patriots for his 21st season (assuming New England wants him back). We won't know the answer to that question for a while, but a clue about his intentions may have been revealed.

“The Brady suite at Gillette Stadium where (Gisele Bundchen) has been known to watch her husband play football has been cleaned out," WEEI Radio's Greg Hill said Tuesday. “It would appear to be, by those who are in the know, that it has been cleaned out in way that perhaps it has never has been cleaned out before.”

Hill added that Brady sold his Massachusetts home and relocated to Greenwich, Connecticut.

Does all of this add up to Brady having played his final down with the Patriots? It's hard to say; it certainly isn't overwhelming evidence considering the number of reasons why Brady's suite could've been cleaned (maybe it was just really filthy) and Connecticut isn't exactly a cross-country move.

But with a Bears' quarterback depth chart that's highlighted by Mitch Trubisky, one of the most underwhelming starters in the league in 2019, any hope that Brady will be available is worth holding onto. Even if it's found in a cleaning service and a 'for sale' sign.
