NFC North: Vikings sign former 1st-round pick, Josh Doctson

The Minnesota Vikings added to their wide receiver corps Monday with the signing of former first-round pick, Josh Doctson.

Doctson was selected by the Redskins with the 22nd overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft but failed to live up to the expectations he set as a collegiate star at TCU.

Doctson started 26 games over the last two seasons after appearing in just two games as a rookie (Achilles). Even when healthy, he's failed to produce as a first-rounder should. He managed just 44 catches for 532 yards and two touchdowns in 12 starts (15 games played) last year. He'll be reunited with Kirk Cousins in Minnesota who he had a moderate level of success with during the 2017 season when the pair connected on six touchdowns.

While Doctson's path to playing time is blocked by Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, he'll have a chance to develop his craft and eventually contribute for an offense that should be much improved in Year 2 of Cousins and with a healthy Dalvin Cook.

The Bears' first game against the Vikings will take place in Week 4 at home.
