Our own Glynn Morgan ranked Christian Barmore as the best interior defensive lineman in the 2021 NFL Draft. The fact that he is still available on Day 2 is astonishing. Akiem Hicks is heading into the final year of his contract and looking for some interior defensive line help could be an appealing move for the Bears. Like Hicks, Barmore can anchor against the run but also collapse pockets to rush quarterbacks. Barmore could be the heir to Hicks' role on the defense.

The Bears have Eddie Jackson, but the Bears could use some help in the secondary. Trevon Moerhig was expected to go in the first round, but here he is on Day 2. Moehrig is a playmaker that creates turnovers, something the Bears defense has struggled to do since 2018. He might not make it until the Bears' pick at 52, in which case Oregon safety Jevon Holland could be a fit.

Allen Robinson is back for at least one more seasons. Last year's steal of the draft, Darnell Mooney, will continue to flourish. But adding Purdue's Rondale Moore could really round out the offensive weapons. He is incredibly fast and has the ability to move horizontally and vertically with incredible quickness.

A lot of mock drafts had the Bears drafting Teven Jenkins with their pick at 20, but of course they traded up to 11 to draft Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. Offensive line was an issue for a majority of the 2020 season, though they found some consistency towards the end of the year. Drafting Jenkins could be the start of building a unit to protect Fields for the long-haul. Jenkins has also played both guard positions adding some versatility to his game.

The offense needs weapons. And with Justin Fields in the backfield, why not start building that chemistry now. Moore is far from perfect and has some issues, but he is tough and has a good feel for zones and finding open spaces for a quarterback to deliver the ball. With the Bears' patchwork offensive line, that could be needed.

The Bears have struggled to create turnovers the way they did in 2018 and Florida State's Asante Samuel is a ballhawk. He has the ability to jump routes because he has some elite instincts, and that's something you can't coach. And while he might be undersized, he is physical.

Protecting Justin Fields for the long-haul will be important, and North Dakota State tackle Dillon Radunz could be the guy to do it. Radunz was projected to be a first-round pick on several mocks so the fact that he's available on Day 2 means the Bears have an opportunity to get a steal here. He has a ton of experience protecting a quarterback's blind side.

The Bears need offense and why not add another weapon for Justin Fields. Marshall can be the home run threat the Bears offense needs. He can line up in the slot and shed nickel backs. And LSU does a pretty good job churning out wide receivers.

Liam Eichenberg is a power offensive tackle with prototypical NFL size and length, paired with sound fundamentals.. He's not going to be pass rushers with his feet movement, but he's strong and capable fending off defenders. And Justin Fields is going to need protection.

Cambell is fast and long and capable of filling a Kyle Fuller size hole in the secondary. He closes quickly on passes and could replicate some of that pop Fuller brought to the Bears' defense. He's quick and can run step for step with any receiver.
