Texans insist they're not trading DeShaun Watson

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has made it clear he wants out of Houston.

And Bears fans are dreaming of Watson coming to Chicago to erase the pain of the 2017 NFL Draft when general manager Ryan Pace selected Mitch Trubisky - also passing on Patrick Mahomes.

But according to the latest report from Adam Schefter, Watson might not be going anywhere.

"The Houston Texans continue to tell any team that calls that they are not trading Deshaun Watson," Schefter wrote. "...But no matter how many calls they receive on Watson, the Texans insist they will not trade him, according to sources.

Of course the Bears could've been one of those teams that were told Watson isn't going anywhere and that's why they're being connected to the Eagles' Carson Wentz.

Sigh.

But this could also be part of the process. The Texans have made some key hirings in the front office and at head coach and those new arrivals could be trying to diffuse the situation first.

And if the Bears called and were told no way is he going, moving on to explore other quarterbacks on the market like Wentz would make sense.

But that process is something to consider. Don't make a trade for Wentz when Watson's future is still undetermined.
