Preseason NFL Power Rankings
32. Cincinnati Bengals
No AJ Green, no O-Line, and those uniforms all combine for a team that will be one of the league’s least watchable.
31. Miami Dolphins
It’ll be fun to see what Brian Flores does, but this roster isn’t giving him much to work with.
30. New York Jets
They were Offseason Champs, for whatever that’s worth. How much does Le'Veon Bell actually have left?
29. Arizona Cardinals
If you’re going to be bad, it doesn’t hurt to have Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury running the show. I’ll tune in for a college style offense that loses 10 games.
28. New York Giants
Just stay healthy through the whole season, Saquon. That’s all we want from this team.
27. Oakland Raiders
They may be low in the Power Rankings, but they’re definitely a Top-10 Red Zone team. A little dose of AB drama is always fun.
26. Washington Redskins
Does Dwayne Haskins start in Week 2 or Week 3? Their front 7 will be sneaky good though.
25. Detroit Lions
Trey Flowers and Mike Daniels make the defense better, but just how much exactly? It feels like there are at least 2 better teams in the NFC North.
24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jameis Winston is heading into his option year, so it’s a make or break season in Tampa Bay. Silver lining is that it’ll be hard to be *worse* than last year’s defense.
23. San Francisco 49ers
They’re so under the radar that they’re not even under the radar anymore. Nick Bosa already going down for the whole preseason with an ankle injury is … something.
22. Buffalo Bills
This defense is no joke. Ed Oliver on that D-line is going to keep AFC East games closer than they should be.
21. Denver Broncos
Joe Flacco! Vic Fangio! This team is so weird.
20. Houston Texans
Perhaps there’s not enough respect for Houston here, but with that O-Line, it’s hard to see how they are serious contenders. Go get Trent Williams!
19. Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton’s shoulder situation still seems a little hairy, but they’ve got enough big names on both sides of the ball to stay in contention.
18. Tennessee Titans
Basically the Buccaneers, but with Marcus Mariota.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars
Never forget that they gave Nick Foles a four-year contract for $88 million. Tom Coughlin!
16. Seattle Seahawks
Will watch WAY more of the first Seahawks preseason game than necessary solely for DK Metcalf.
15. Atlanta Falcons
Getting linebacker Deion Jones and safety Keanu Neal back is arguably more important than any offensive adjustments they’ve made.
14. Dallas Cowboys
Jerry Jones beefing with star players in preseason is one of the league’s most time-honored traditions.
13. Green Bay Packers
The Rodgers-LaFleur quotes are silly, but the optics -- coming off last year, no less -- are pretty rough. They made some nice additions to the defense this offseason.
12. Cleveland Browns
It sort of feels like some of the Browns hype has gotten out of hand, but it’d be a BLAST if they’re as good as advertised this year.
11. Minnesota Vikings
The offense should be better/healthier, but what exactly is the ceiling for a Kirk Cousins team?
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
It’s been the most lowkey Steelers camp in years! Linebacker Devin Bush is already turning heads, too.
9. Chicago Bears
Regression talk feels a bit played out already, but they really, really, need the offense to take a significant step.
8. Baltimore Ravens
Maybe 8’s a little high, but Lamar Jackson is fun and adding Earl Thomas is going to make a difference. Losing Terrell Suggs, Za'Darius Smith, and C.J. Mosley is going to take some time to figure out however.
7. Los Angeles Rams
Questions about Jared Goff’s ceiling and Todd Gurley’s knees aren’t going to go away, but they’re too talented and well-coached to not be really good.
6. Philadelphia Eagles
It sounds like Miles Sanders is impressing a lot of people in Philly. A healthy Carson Wentz never hurts either.
5. Indianapolis Colts
Another year, another lingering Andrew Luck injury. And that’s about the only negative thing you can say about the Colts.
4. Los Angeles Chargers
They could probably survive without Melvin Gordon, but why tempt fate? They’re probably the most balanced and deep team in their division.
3. New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas are going to score like 35 points a game again.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Frank Clark presumably helps this defense, but are they going to be that much better? More Pat Mahomes no look passes!
1. New England Patriots
Who did you think it was going to be?
