A report Tuesday morning says the Bears have told Matt Nagy he will be fired following the Bears’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Lions. According to Mark Konkol from Patch, the Bears told Nagy that he was going to be fired on Monday.
The Bears have never fired a coach midseason before.
It’s a quick fall from grace for Nagy, who was hired in 2018, led the Bears to their first NFC North title since 2008, and won the Coach of the Year award.

If he is fired after Thanksgiving, Nagy will finish his Bears tenure with a winning record. He currently stands at 31-27.
In his regularly scheduled media availability on Tuesday, Nagy called the report "inaccurate" while refusing to answer whether he had assurance he'd finish out the season.
It comes on the heels of a report suggesting Nagy lost his hold of the locker room, albeit from Allen Robinson's podcast co-host.

Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson seemed to validate that report while expressing his own frustration on Monday.
“How many games have we lost in a row?” said Johnson. ”There's nothing to talk about. We aren't going to beat a dead horse. We are all men. Coming in here and saying ‘we have to figure out a way,’ to me it's BS.
“We have to find ways to win, we just have to get it done. Whatever it is. Like I said, whatever it is but there's nothing to keep coming in here and talking about, and having all these rah-rah speeches. We've had five weeks of rah-rah speeches. I don't think that talking is anything we need to be doing."
Fans have called for Nagy to be fired in numerous incidents.
Over the weekend chants from fans to have Nagy fired have come during his son's high school football game, which the principal condemned. There were chants during the Bears' game against the Ravens and most recently, during the Chicago Bulls loss to the Indiana Pacers on Monday Night.
