Report: Bills nearing deal to acquire WR Antonio Brown

According to NFL Network National Insider Ian Rapoport, the Buffalo Bills have added their name into the Antonio Brown sweepstakes in a very, very big way.

There have been many teams linked to the All-Pro wide receiver, with the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans among the teams mentioned the most. But with the Bills looking for WR help for sophomore quarterback Josh Allen, a Brown acquisition certainly makes a ton of sense for the offensively challenged squad, which finished 30th in the NFL in points per game in 2018.

But according to “AB” himself, we shouldn’t be so quick to believe the reports that he is headed to the Bills, as he took to Instagram to let the world know how he felt about the trade chatter.

Only time will tell if the Bills are truly going to net Brown in a trade. And according to Rapoport, the Bills were one of the stealthier teams in the running for AB, seemingly jumping to the front of the pack out of nowhere.

If Brown was to be sent to Buffalo, it would certainly be a big step in the right direction, in terms of fostering the development of QB Josh Allen. The Bears have been loosely mentioned as a team that could be a great landing spot for Brown, and seeing how Mitch Trubisky is coming off an incredibly encouraging year, the argument could be made that AB would take Matt Nagy’s offense to the next level.

But unless the Bears or any other NFL teams step up soon, it may be time for Bills Mafia to finally rejoice.
