CINCINNATI -- Bears general manager Ryan Pace said there are "no new developments" in the team's stalemate with linebacker Roquan Smith, who remains unsigned more than three weeks after rookies reported to training camp in mid-July.

"It's something that we're working through and obviously, I feel like a broken record here, but we want him to be here but it's just part of the process," Pace said in an interview with WBBM Newsradio 780 prior to Thursday's Bears-Bengals preseason game.

Earlier this week, inside linebackers coach Glenn Pires discussed Smith's absence, which has covered 13 practices and, as of Thursday night, two preseason games. The Bears have two more training camp practices in Bourbonnais, on Saturday and Sunday, before holding joint practices with the Denver Broncos in Colorado Wednesday and Thursday next week. Following Aug. 18's game in Denver, the Bears will return to practice at Halas Hall.
