Brady explains why he didn't shake Foles' hand

Remember that time Tom Brady forgot what down it was? At the end of the game? And then ran off the field before shaking Nick Foles' hand like a total weirdo? And then didn't really explain it for like 2 weeks? Remember that?

Well it all happened exactly like that. And now we have an explanation for it! Because if there's one thing that Sports Media will NOT stand for, it's any lack of sportsmanship between The Field Generals. Back in their day Joe Montana shook everyone's hand! How DARE Brady disrespect the quarterbacking legends that have graced Soldier Field's lego surface over the years. It was fine when he basically committed a war crime by sucking all the air out of every football in Foxboro, and I was willing to look the other way (in disgust) when he claimed that avocados are an acceptable desert, but this? His reckoning nears.

“I didn’t even think about that,” Brady told the Tampa Bay Times on Thursday. “I think Nick Foles is a hell of a player and a Super Bowl champ. I don’t know one reason or another why I wouldn’t do that. Sometimes I run off the field, sometimes I haven’t. Sometimes if I have a personal relationship, like I have with Drew (Brees) and Justin (Herbert) and Aaron (Rodgers) over the years. . . I don’t know. I don’t think it’s anything particular other than I have great admiration for Nick, and I think he’s a hell of a player. They’re off to a great start.”

Of course, Foles was then asked about it. And of course, he downplayed the whole thing because Nick Foles apparently doesn't care about our page views. (So honestly who's being more rude here really?) Here's what HE said:

"It’s happened a few times. I’m sure that some day Tom and I will have a great conversation about it and probably just laugh at it. There’s obviously history there from a big game we both played in once and then other day on Thursday night bug it is what it is, and I think he’s a tremendous player. Someday we’ll have a good conversation. I know thinking back to the golf. Peyton was getting under his skin and when he brought my name up, it got to him. I don’t know why that is. We never had that conversation. But I think he’s a great player and obviously one of the greatest of all time.”

And with that, you now know what Tom Brady said about not shaking Nick Foles' hand, and what Nick Foles thinks about Tom Brady's reason for not shaking Nick Foles' hand. Let it simmer, then post about it on the web. It's all any of us can do.
