The Bears fixed their tight end problem Monday (sort of?) with the signing of former Saints and Packers playmaker, Jimmy Graham, to a two-year, $16 million deal with $9 million guaranteed.
For a fan base that was hoping for Austin Hooper or even Eric Ebron, the 33-year-old Graham is a tough sell.
Graham's production has been on a steady decline the last several seasons and it remains to be seen whether he has enough in the tank to be the kind of pass-catcher the Bears offense needs at the position.
Twitter, as always, was overflowing with immediate fan reaction. Here's a sample of how Bears fans took the news:
“Jimmy Graham to the Bears would be amazing,” said me in 2011.— Alan Goldsher (@AlanGoldsher) March 17, 2020

Why in the hell did the bears Sign jimmy Graham 🤦🏾♂️— Brehummad Ali (@DaBeardedApe) March 17, 2020
*sigh* and we get jimmy graham instead of trey burton, what a minimal upgrade https://t.co/hfSMjZ7ps8— shh moey (@JoeySchloegel) March 17, 2020
If you’re the @ChicagoBears and you just saw what a top 5 quarterback of all time did with Jimmy Graham (nothing)... why in God’s name would you waste that kind of money on signing him. Guy can barely run at this point and was brutally ineffective in Green Bay. Seems stupid— CV (@ColbAE___) March 17, 2020
God I'm sick man we started off with Teddy Bridgewater and ended up with Jimmy Graham how does that happen— BK (@bvks_) March 17, 2020

So, yeah. You get the point. Bears fans are...let's just say they aren't thrilled with the move.
