Badgers lose starting linebacker Chris Orr for season to knee injury

Wisconsin scored a huge opening-week win over LSU at Lambeau Field, but the Badgers lost one of their starting linebackers in the process.

The team announced Monday that sophomore linebacker Chris Orr will miss the remainder of the 2016 season with a right knee injury.

It didn't take long for bad luck to strike Saturday, with Orr suffering the injury on the defense's first series.

Injuries have become a big problem in the Badgers' linebacking corps. An offseason foot injury already kept T.J. Edwards, the team's leading tackler from a season ago, out of the LSU game, and he wasn't on this week's depth chart, either.

Orr was replaced on the depth chart with fellow sophomore Ryan Connelly, who had seven tackles against the Tigers.

Orr, who made 46 tackles as a true freshman last year, will likely earn a redshirt this season.
