Former Illinois linebacker T.J. Neal is heading to the SEC, but he can keep all his orange and blue.

Neal, who we learned would be transferring away from the Illini last month, announced Tuesday that he'll be landing at Auburn, where he'll be immediately eligible to play as a graduate transfer.

“It has been an honor to be given a chance to play college football," Neal wrote in a message on Twitter. "For my senior year, I chose to sign with the University of Auburn. I want to thank the coaching staff at the University of Auburn for giving me this opportunity. Also, I want to thank my family, friends and significant other for helping me through this uncomfortable time. I am excited for this next chapter in my life."

Neal was the Illini's second-leading tackler in 2015, racking up 109 tackles, including 14 tackles for loss and two sacks.

A two-year starter, he piled up 245 tackles during his time at Illinois.
