Rayvonte Rice will be suiting up for the Bulls this summer.

The former Fighting Illini guard will join the Bulls during the NBA summer league, according to a report from the Champaign News-Gazette's Marcus Jackson.

Rice worked out with the Bulls and many other teams ahead of the NBA Draft, but he didn't hear his name called Thursday night. The Illini have had just one player drafted in the past nine drafts.

Rice showed an ability to score with ease at the college level, leading the Illini in scoring in each of the past two seasons after transferring in from Drake. Last season he averaged 16.5 points per game after averaging 15.9 points per game during the 2013-14 season.

A Champaign native, Rice will be playing for his home-state NBA team this summer in hopes of finding a spot on the roster. The Bulls, under new head coach Fred Hoiberg, are looking to improve on the offensive end, and perhaps they can find Rice's offensive game useful.
