Illini set home-and-home with Duke for a decade in the future

The freshmen who will suit up for the first game of Illinois' future home-and-home series with Duke are currently 8 years old.

Friday, the Illini announced a home-and-home series with the Blue Devils set for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, so you have a little time if you're looking for tickets.

Illinois will travel to Durham, N.C., in 2025 before playing host to Duke in Champaign in 2026.

It's the latest Power 5 conference opponent placed on one of the Illini's future schedule. Illinois begins a home-and-home with North Carolina this season. There are two games against Virginia, also of the ACC, in 2021 and 2022 and two against Kansas in 2023 and 2024.

Duke is the best of these opponents, having gone to three straight bowl games under head coach David Cutcliffe,

Illinois and Duke have played just two prior games. Duke won, 15-13, in 1958, and Illinois won, 28-14, in 1965.
