Obama tells Jim Harbaugh, Michigan to ‘keep their chin up'

Not even 48 hours after Michigan's heartbreaking loss to Michigan State, Mr. Harbaugh went to Washington.

Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was at the White House on Monday to help promote the Better Make Room campaign, which is aimed at helping young people succeed in college.

Harbaugh also got to meet President Obama, and the leader of the free world — known to be a very big sports fan — talked to Harbaugh about this weekend's defeat.

"He was great, we talked about some mutual friends that we both know and he said the same thing you just said, 'Tough way to lose a football game,'" Harbaugh told reporters, his quotes published by the Detroit Free Press. "(He) told the fellas to keep their chin up. ... (He) likes the way our team plays, and he told the guys to keep it going."

The president is quite the sports fan, and though he's more into basketball — one word: Baracketology — he's commented on important college football issues in the past, even supporting the implementation of the College Football Playoff.

Michigan likely won't be going to that playoff after Saturday's loss, but a pep talk from the president ought to have the Wolverines extra amped for their next game.
