Penn State is getting an infusion of talent in the form of former UConn guard Terrence Samuel.

Samuel has picked the Nittany Lions after deciding to transfer away from the Huskies earlier this year, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.

Samuel, a Brooklyn native, appeared in 65 games in his two years at UConn, including all 35 last season and 30 of the 40 contests during the Huskies' national-title-winning season of 2013-14.

This past season, he averaged 20.4 minutes per game with a 3.6 scoring average.

Samuel was a three-star recruit out of high school, ranked by Rivals as the No. 29 shooting guard and No. 118 player overall in the Class of 2013.

Per NCAA rules, Samuel will sit out the upcoming season before he can begin his final two seasons of eligibility. When he does join the Lions on the court, he'll figure to fill a similar role to that of Geno Thorpe, who transferred away from Penn State this offseason.
