Penn State will be down a pair of starters for its Rose Bowl game against USC.

The Nittany Lions announced Wednesday suspensions for wide receiver Saeed Blacknall and linebacker Manny Bowen that will keep the two out of Monday’s game in Pasadena.

Penn State provided no reasons for the suspensions past unspecified violations of team rules.

Blacknall only played in nine games this season but caught 15 passes for 347 yards and a trio of touchdowns. He played a big role in the Big Ten Championship Game win over Wisconsin, catching six passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.

Bowen ranks fourth on the team in tackles with 68 on the season. He made 12 stops in the win over Ohio State.
