After a four-interception day in the season-opening loss to Marshall, Austin Appleby needed to bounce back.

Not many better ways to bounce back than this.

With just a few seconds left before halftime during Saturday's game against Indiana State, Appleby had one heave toward the end zone with the ball near midfield. And heave it, he did. Appleby pitched this 51-yard toss that landed in the arms of Dan Monteroso for a Hail Mary touchdown as time ran out on the first half.

Appleby threw for 174 yards and that touchdown, as well as rushing in for a score, in the first half as Purdue headed to the locker room ahead of Indiana State, 24-7.
