Purdue will give head men's basketball coach Matt Painter a three-year contract extension, according to several reports.
Per Nathan Baird of the Lafayette Journal & Courier, Painter's contract extension will keep him at Purdue through the 2021-22 season.
Painter is entering his 12th season as the Boilermakers' head coach. In the previous 11 campaigns, he's led Purdue to a 238-134 record with a 113-81 mark in Big Ten play. The Boilers have reached eight NCAA tournaments under Painter's leadership and reached back-to-back Sweet Sixteens in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

Last season, Purdue won 26 games, the most in a single season since 2010-11, and reached the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament. Like several other the conference's teams, however, the Boilers suffered a shocking upset defeat in the first round of the Big Dance, falling to 12th-seeded Arkansas Little Rock.
