After the three players who were invited to Thursday's NBA Draft — all of whom were selected in the top 18 picks — it was unknown whether another Big Ten player would come off the board before the draft's conclusion.

The Washington Wizards used the No. 49 pick in the draft to make Iowa's Aaron White the second Hawkeye picked in the last two drafts. Roy Devyn Marble was a second-round pick of the Orlando Magic in last year's draft.

White carried the Hawkeyes during the majority of last season, earning All-Big Ten honors after averaging 16.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He was the first player in more than 30 years to lead the Hawkeyes in all three categories and finished second on Iowa's all-time scoring list.

White flashed an ability to score in many different ways and had an especially strong knack for getting to the free-throw line. He made 618 free throws during his four-year career, more than any Big Ten player in the last 50 years.

White scored 20 or more points in six of his last seven games, including a 29-point effort against Illinois, a 25-point night in the regular-season finale against Northwestern and a 26-point performance in Iowa's Round of 64 crushing of Davidson in the NCAA tournament.

White is the second player drafted out of Iowa since Fran McCaffery took over as head coach, joining Marble. He's the third Iowa player drafted this millennium (Adam Haluska, 2007).
