Blackhawks power play remains ice cold

These two teams are playing like they're headed to a fourth overtime in as many games. The second period wasn't as dominant for the home team as the first, but Mike Smith's denied every legitimate Blackhawks chance and has gotten an all-out effort from his teammates clogging passing and shooting lanes, and jumping on the rebounds he's given up.

His best stop of the period came with five minutes left on a bullet of a centering pass from Dave Bolland on the goal-line extended to Bryan Bickell at the doorstep, but Smith was right there. He's allowed the Coyotes to play the patient game they're so good at. Now it's up to the Hawks to keep plugging away despite what has to be some frustration.

Two more power plays have fallen by the wayside for the Hawks, and they're now 1-for-12 in the series and weren't penalized until the final two minutes of the second. They'll have two seconds left to kill when the third period begins. Shots are 23-10 in favor of the Hawks.

Heading back to the CSN studios after second intermission from the UC for "Blackhawks Postgame Live" with locker room reaction and Joel Quenneville's press conference.
