AHL pushes back targeted start date for 2020-21 regular season

On Wednesday, the American Hockey League — which feeds into the National Hockey League — announced it's pushing back its targeted start date for the 2020-21 regular season.

The AHL, which was previously aiming to start next season on Dec. 1, is now targeting a Feb. 5 start date.

The league's Board of Governor approved moving the dates due to COVID-19.

The NHL is targeting a January 1 start date for the 2020-21 season.
