Blackhawks cancel practice ‘out of abundance of caution'

Share

The Blackhawks announced that they have canceled Saturday's practice at Fifth Third Arena "out of abundance of caution due to potential exposure of COVID-19."

"The Chicago Blackhawks organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines to protect the health and safety of players and staff as set by the NHL as well as local and state agencies," the team said in a statement. "The Blackhawks will not comment further at this time and information on Sunday’s schedule will be announced at a later time."

Adam Boqvist, Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Wallmark were placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol this past week. The league will send out an updated memo at 4 p.m. CT, where we will find out whether any additional players were added to the list.

The Blackhawks are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday at the United Center.
