Jed Hoyer recently wrapped up a thorough search for the Cubs' general manager position, and another Chicago team wants to pick his brain as they conduct their own front office search.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported the Blackhawks have met with Hoyer for consultation in their search process, which is underway as they look for their permanent front office structure.
Hoyer, who was promoted to Cubs team president in November 2020 after Theo Epstein resigned, is not a candidate for a role in the Blackhawks front office.

The Blackhawks have also hired Mike Forde of Sportsology, Seravalli reported, to analyze their front office structure and how it compares to organizations across sports.
"The Chicago Blackhawks want to take a look under the hood of all these other teams and organizations," Seravalli said on "The Daily Faceoff Show" podcast. "'What's worked for you? Where have you found success? What could we possibly take and implement into our organization?'
"They're going to take all of that information from the other executives, they're going to take the information from Mike Forde, and they're going to mash it all together and come up with a firm model to put that in place and then begin their searches."
Seravalli also reported Blackhawks interim GM Kyle Davidson "will almost certainly get a long look" to remain in the position permanently.

There's a connection between the Cubs and Blackhawks. Cubs executive VP of sales and marketing Colin Faulkner is the husband of Jaime Faulker, the Blackhawks president of business operations.
Hoyer hired Carter Hawkins as Cubs GM in October.
