The Blackhawks have placed goaltender Kevin Lankinen in COVID-19 protocol, the team announced before practice on Friday.
Collin Delia and Arvid Soderblom were the two goaltenders that skated in Friday's practice ahead of Chicago's matchup against the Nashville Predators on New Year's Day. Delia is likely to get the start at this point, which would be his first NHL action since May 10.
Marc-Andre Fleury was placed in COVID-19 protocol on Monday and isn't expected to travel with the team to Nashville. He will likely need a bit of time to get ramped back up anyway, considering he hasn't been on the ice since Dec. 21.
"He’s still not ready," interim head coach Derek King said. "I believe he has another test to do and then I’ll know more after practice, but I doubt he’s available for us right away."
With no Lankinen, the Blackhawks are down to their third- and fourth-string goaltenders as they prepare for a stretch where they play five games in eight days.
