Hawks mutually part ways with Bobby Hull as team ambassador

The Blackhawks have mutually parted ways with Bobby Hull as a team ambassador, the team confirmed to NBC Sports Chicago on Monday. The news was first reported by Bruce Levine of 670 The Score.

With the passing of Stan Mikita in 2018 and Tony Esposito in 2021, Chris Chelios and Denis Savard are the only two members that are part of the team ambassador program.

"We’re redefining the role of team ambassador – which unfortunately comes on the heels of losing two very special members of that family," the Blackhawks said in a statement. "When it comes to Bobby, specifically, we jointly agreed earlier this season that he will retire from any official team role."

Hull spent 15 of his 16 NHL seasons in Chicago, where he ranks first in franchise history in goals (604), second in points (1,153) and fifth in games played (1,036). The 10-time All-Star also won the Art Ross Trophy three times and helped the Blackhawks win a Stanley Cup in 1961.

Hull was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
