Beaudin, DeBrincat removed from NHL's COVID-19 protocol

The Blackhawks received some positive news on Tuesday morning after announcing Nicolas Beaudin and Alex DeBrincat were removed from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.

Beaudin was placed in the protocol on Saturday, presumably for precautionary reasons, and missed only one game while DeBrincat was placed in the protocol last Monday and was sidelined for exactly seven days and four games.

Head coach Jeremy Colliton confirmed that neither player tested positive for COVID-19 and both were in the protocol for other reasons. Adam Boqvist, Ryan Carpenter and Lucas Wallmark remain in the protocol.

The Blackhawks are slated to host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night at the United Center. Beaudin and DeBrincat participated in the team's optional morning skate, but it's unclear whether either of them will draw into the lineup. A decision will be made closer to game time.
