Blackhawks-Oilers schedule for five-game series in 2019-20 qualifying round

The NHL and NHL Players' Association officially ratified the Return to Play plan and Collective Bargaining Agreement extension, meaning the 2019-20 restart will begin on Aug. 1 in the two hub cities of Edmonton and Toronto.

Here is a quick look at the schedule of the Blackhawks and Oilers' five-game play-in series for a chance to secure a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs:

  • Game 1 — Saturday, Aug. 1
  • Game 2 — Monday, Aug. 3
  • Game 3 — Wednesday, Aug. 5
  • Game 4 (if necessary) — Friday, Aug. 7
  • Game 5 (if necessary) — Saturday, Aug. 8


The puck drop times have yet to be determined, but a complete broadcast schedule will be announced in the coming days.

What we do know is, the start times for the Eastern Conference matchups in Toronto will be 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. CT while the Western Conference games in Edmonton will be 1 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. CT. Those times, however, may fluctuate by up to 30 minutes during the play-in round.
