The Blackhawks have agreed to terms with goaltender Cale Morris on a one-year, entry-level contract that runs through the 2021-22 season, the team announced Friday. His cap hit is $750,000.

Morris was previously on an AHL contract with the Rockford IceHogs. He was promoted to Chicago’s taxi squad as an insurance policy.

The move comes hours after Kevin Lankinen was placed in COVID-19 protocol, where he joined Marc-Andre Fleury, who was placed in protocol on Monday.

Collin Delia and Arvid Soderblom were the two goaltenders at practice on Friday and are likely to dress on Saturday vs. Nashville. Delia is expected to start.

Morris, 25, has appeared in two games for Rockford this season and has a 1-0-0 record with a 1.64 goals-against average and .919 save percentage. He has spent the majority of the season with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel, where he’s 6-5-2 with a 2.82 goals-against average, .898 save percentage and one shutout in 14 appearances.
