The Blackhawks announced Tuesday that defenseman Brandon Davidson is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks after undergoing right knee surgery.
"The surgery went well and we do not anticipate any further complications," said Blackhawks team physician Dr. Michael Terry.
Davidson has missed the past seven games because of the injury and was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 13. The initial diagnosis was day-to-day and the belief was that it was general soreness. He has one assist, a minus-4 rating and a 13:46 ice time average through seven games this season.
Fortunately for the Blackhawks, Connor Murphy has been practicing with the team and is inching closer to a return, which should certainly be a boost to the blue line. He has yet to appear in a game this season after being sidelined with a back injury since training camp.
