The NHL is hoping to have more clarity on the start date for the 2020-21 season in the near future, but the Blackhawks loaned several of their prospects overseas last month to get a head start as the organization prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Here's an update on how each six prospects are faring with their respective clubs:
— Matej Chalupa has one assist in four games with HK Hradec Kralove of the Czech Extraliga. He had 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) in 50 games last season.
— Brandon Hagel recorded five points (three goals and two assists) in HC Thurgau's 5-3 win in the Swiss League on Tuesday. He has nine points (four goals, five assists) in six games this season, and has a plus-7 rating.
— Philipp Kurashev ranks first on the team in assists (seven) and third in points (seven) through nine games for HC Lugano of the Swiss National League. He played second-line center in Tuesday's 5-4 win.
— Tim Soderlund is tied for second on the team in goals (four) and points (seven) through 12 games for Almunta IS of HockeyAllsvenskan in Sweden. His best performance came on Nov. 4 when he registered three points (two goals, one assist) in a 6-3 win.
— Pius Suter has five points (two goals, three assists) through six games with GC Küsnacht Lions of Switzerland's National League-B. He was reassigned to ZSC Lions of National League-A but has yet to appear in a game. Two players tested positive for COVID-19 on Nov. 10, forcing the team to quarantine until Nov. 18.
— Michal Teply has appeared in one game for BK Mlada Boleslav of the Czech Extraliga. He also played in one game for the Czech Republic in the Karjala Tournament.
