The Blackhawks released their training camp 2.0 roster on Monday morning ahead of Phase 3 and included 35 skaters: 18 forwards, 12 defensemen and five goaltenders. The NHL regulars skated in the first group on Day 1 while the taxi squad skated in a second session.

One of the big questions going into camp was what the line combinations would look like. And we got them.

Here is how head coach Jeremy Colliton rolled out his group after the team returned to the ice together for the first time in 124 days:

  • Line 1: Alex DeBrincat — Jonathan Toews — Brandon Saad
  • Line 2: Alex Nylander — Dylan Strome — Patrick Kane
  • Line 3: Dominik Kubalik — Kirby Dach — Drake Caggiula
  • Line 4: Ryan Carpenter — David Kampf — Matthew Highmore

  • Defensemen pairing 1: Duncan Keith — Adam Boqvist
  • Defensemen pairing 2: Calvin de Haan — Connor Murphy
  • Defensemen pairing 3: Olli Maatta — Slater Koekkoek
  • Defensemen pairing 4: Lucas Carlsson — Brent Seabrook

The line combinations were very similar to what they were on March 11, which was the Blackhawks' final game before the league put its season on pause due to the COVID-19 crisis. The only change came on the third line, where Caggiula swapped back in for Hagel after being sidelined with a hand injury.

Collin Delia and Malcolm Subban served as the two goaltenders for the first group. Corey Crawford did not participate because he was deemed "unfit to play."

Andrew Shaw (concussion) and Zack Smith (back) were not part of the training camp roster, but de Haan (right shoulder) and Seabrook (hips/shoulder) were and both appeared to be full participants.
