Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews donated $100,000 to the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund through the Jonathan Toews Foundation, as reported by ESPN’s Emily Kaplan on Thursday morning.

The Chicago Blackhawks Foundation announced earlier this month that it will match the first $100,000 in individual donations.

Toews also appeared on NBC's "The Today Show” on Thursday morning during its #WithYouToday segment. The three-time Stanley Cup champion gave a special video message, wishing 'Happy Birthday' to a seven-year-old fan who missed out on a Hawks game on his birthday.
