NHL 2020-21 season: Key dates surface per reports

After the NHL and NHL Players' Association reached a tentative agreement on Friday, the 2020-21 season could officially be a go at any moment.

Reportedly, the agreement has a Jan. 13 start for the regular season. Teams that didn't make it to the 2020 playoffs have the option of starting training camp on Dec. 31, with the remaining squads slated for Jan. 3.

As far as the key dates that began to emerge Sunday morning:

TSN's Darren Dreger reported April 12, 2021 will be the NHL Trade Deadline and July 23 and 24 are scheduled for the NHL Draft.

The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun added that the end of the regular season is slated for May 8, the Seattle Kraken's expansion draft will be on July 21, and free agency opens up on July 28.
