The Seattle Kraken officially have a team.
The NHL's 32nd franchise assembled their initial roster by selecting 30 players in the 2021 expansion draft on Wednesday.

The Kraken operated under the same rules as the Vegas Golden Knights expansion draft in 2017, selecting at least 14 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders. Twenty of the 30 players chosen must be under contract for the 2021-22 season with an "aggregate value that is between 60-100 percent" of the salary cap ceiling.

The Kraken are expected to open their season in Vegas, with their home opener scheduled for Oct. 23 against the Vancouver Canucks at Climate Pledge Arena.
