(Last week: 23)

3/31

(Last week: 19)

4/31

No. 1 overall pick Alexis Lafrenière logged a career-high 18:49 of ice time in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh but he's still searching for his first career NHL point.

(Last week: 17)

5/31

After dropping three straight in regulation, the Blackhawks have picked up five out of a possible six points in their last three games and have the NHL's best power play with a 42.1 percent success rate.

(Last week: 30)

6/31

Leon Draisaitl scored the game-winning goal on Sunday against Winnipeg with 0.7 seconds left in regulation. The reigning Hart Trophy winner is on a three-game goal streak after failing to find the back of the net in his first four games.

(Last week: 22)

7/31

Adrian Kempe had a three-game goal streak snapped on Sunday, but he recorded two assists to extend his point streak to four games. He's been a bright spot in the early going.

(Last week: 27)

8/31

John Gibson has a 5.03 goals saved above average, which ranks No. 2 among all goaltenders. He needs to be elite for Anaheim to compete in this division and, so far, he is.

(Last week: 28)

9/31

Jack Eichel leads the Sabres in scoring with seven points, but he's still searching for his first goal of the season.

(Last week: 29)

10/31

The Coyotes were held to 16 shots on goal in Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Golden Knights, who won three of the four games against Arizona.

(Last week: 16)

11/31

(Last week: 6)

12/31

Brent Burns is averaging 28:07 of ice time through six games this season. He's 35 years old and still an absolute machine.

(Last week: 25)

13/31

The Blue Jackets pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal, sending disgruntled center Pierre-Luc Dubois and a third-round pick in 2022 to Winnipeg for three-time 30-goal scorer Patrik Laine and depth center Jack Roslovic. It was a win-win for both sides, but you wonder how Laine will fit in John Tortorella's system.

(Last week: 24)

14/31

The Flyers were hit with the injury bug after Sean Couturier suffered a Costochondral separation, Morgan Frost dislocated his left shoulder, Philippe Myers sustained a fractured rib. They're 1-2-1 since winning back-to-back games against Pittsburgh to open the season.

(Last week: 2)

15/31

The Panthers had their first two games against Dallas postponed of a COVID-19 outbreak involving the Stars, beat the Blackhawks twice, then had their next two games postponed against Carolina. Tough break.

(Last week: 21)

16/31

The Penguins have won four straight since dropping back-to-back games to Philadelphia to start the season, but only one of their wins have come in regulation; they have two shootout victories and one overtime win.

(Last week: 20)

17/31

Scott Wedgewood stopped all 28 shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the N.Y. Islanders on Sunday. The Devils have a team save percentage of .944, which ranks No. 1 in the league.

(Last week: 18)

18/31

The Flames are 7-for-20 on the power play through four games and six different players have scored the goals: Dillon Dube, Johnny Gaudreau, Mark Giordano, Elias Lindholm (2), Sean Monahan and Matthew Tkachuk.

(Last week: 10)

19/31

The Islanders have been shut out twice this season and have also shut out their opponent twice. Semyon Varlamov became the first goaltender in Islanders history to record a shutout in each of his first two appearances of a season and the 14th goaltender in NHL history to do so.

(Last week: 15)

20/31

Brayden Schenn is on a four-game point streak and has four goals over that span. He's been their offensive engine in the early going.

(Last week: 14)

21/31

The Avalanche are struggling to hit their stride out of the gates. They have a -3 goal differential at 5-on-5 through six games, but there's no reason to panic just yet.

(Last week: 4)

22/31

Kaapo Kahkonen is 2-1-0 with a 2.27 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in three appearances this season. He looks like the real deal.

(Last week: 13)

23/31

The Jets acquired center Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Blue Jackets and now have one of the best 1-2 punches up the middle to go along with Mark Scheifele. But they better hope they're getting the postseason version of Dubois and not the disinterested version like we saw in his final game in Columbus.

(Last week: 12)

24/31

The Hurricanes knocked off the Predators 4-2 before the NHL postponed its next three games because five players landed on the league's COVID-19 protocol list.

(Last week: 9)

(Last week: 8)

26/31

The Stars have scored eight power-play goals this season. That ranks No. 3 in the league and they've played only two games.

(Last week: N/R)

27/31

The NHL's points leader? That would be Mitch Marner, who has 10 points (four goals, six assists) through seven games for the Maple Leafs.

(Last week: 11)

28/31

The Capitals had four key players — center Evgeny Kuznetsov, defenseman Dmitri Orlov, captain Alex Ovechkin and goaltender Ilya Samsonov — placed on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list after violating health and safety measures but still picked up three of four points over the weekend against Buffalo.

(Last week: 3)

29/31

Steven Stamkos did not record a point on Saturday against Columbus, snapping a 19-game point streak, including playoffs. He has six points (two goals, four assists) through four games and looks like his former self in the early going.

(Last week: 1)
