Patrick Kane to have jersey retired by the London Knights for 145-point season

There are only eight players in London Knights history to have their jerseys hang in the rafters, but that number is soon to go up to nine. Patrick Kane's No. 88 jersey will be retired by the London Knights for what Knights general manager Mark Hunter called one of the best seasons he has ever witnessed, among the best "3-4 in Knights history".

Kane was selected in the fifth round with the No. 88 overall pick in the 2004 Ontario Hockey League Midget Draft. He went on to very, very quickly showcase that he was ready for NHL hockey.

Kane's feat is rare, having his jersey retired after just one season in the OHL but his numbers from that infamous season are simply put, staggering.

Over 58 games in the 2006-07 OHL season, Kane notched a whopping 145 points, which included 62 goals and 83 assists.

For his incredible efforts that season, Kane won the 2006-07 OHL rookie of the year. The incredible scoring tear of 2007 helped prepare Kane for the next level well, as he hit the ground running with 72 points over a full 82-game slate with the Blackhawks in the 2007-08 season. This started a run of four-straight 70+ point seasons at the NHL level for Kane.

His No. 88 jersey will be retired on January 17 in London, in a game against the Sudbury Wolves.
