On Monday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reported that the number of players on NHL teams allowed to participate in on-ice workouts will expand from six to 12 beginning Tuesday.
Teams have been able to hold small groups workouts under Phase 2 of the NHL's Return To Play plan since June 8.
Blackhawks forwards Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Strome and Drake Caggiula, along with goalie Malcolm Subban, have been participating in the workouts at Fifth Third Arena, the team's practice facility.
July 10 is the date being targeted for squads to hold formal training camps leading up to the league's 24-team playoff format, which has the Hawks facing the Oilers in a best-of-5 play-in round.
On Friday, it was reported the Tampa Bay Lightning closed their training facility after several players and members of the staff tested positive for COVID-19.
