The moment goalie Drew Commesso found out he was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round, No. 46 overall, in the 2020 NHL Draft was caught on video.
Commesso, 18, went 18-7-1 with a 2.05 goals-against average, a .920 save percentage and three shutouts last season with the U.S. National Development Program's under-18 team. The 6'2, 180 lb. netminder is currently a freshman at Boston University.
His selection marks the third time the Blackhawks have drafted a goalie in the second round in franchise history (Kent Simpson in 2010 and Corey Crawford in 2003).
