Bobby Portis and Kris Dunn returning for Bulls against the Kings

It was announced on Monday that Bobby Portis and Kris Dunn will be returning to the rotation against the Sacramento Kings.

Head coach Jim Boylen announced the activations, stating ,"The team is excited, I'm excited."

Both players will be on a minutes restriction of some sort. Boylen wouldn't reveal the exact number, stating that he hadn't talked to team trainers extensively yet though he did have a number in mind.

The return of the two couldn't come at a better time for the depth-needy Bulls, who are coming off of a franchise-worst loss to the Celtics.

Boylen is no doubt excited for two of team's more vocal players to be back, and went as far as to compare himself to Portis.

"You got Bobby who plays with great emotion and passion....we [have] similar personalities.....[he's] a competitive person and we love having him on this team"

Boylen did say that he plans to bring Dunn along more slowly, considering that he only has one game under his belt in the 2018-19 season.

"Kris Dunn is [I think] a dynamic defender, he's a two-way player, last year there was times when he was a closer for us, hopefully he can get back to that confidence level as we go here."

It is unknown how long Dunn will come off the bench, but either way he and Portis will do a lot to help a Bulls team that has gotten better at defense, but is still dead-last in offensive efficiency.

In his one game this season, Dunn had 9 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and fouled out in 30 minutes.

Portis has played in four games this year, averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds per game in just under 30 minutes per game.

The return of Dunn specifically, will give the Bulls front office a chance to see the Dunn-LaVine-Markkanen trio together, as they only played 12 games and 255 minutes together last season.
