Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing attend Jeter's HOF induction

New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter is set to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown Wednesday afternoon, and the stars are out for the occasion.

That includes Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan and Knicks great Patrick Ewing, who combined to compete in one of the NBA's fiercest rivalries while Jeter led the Yankees on a dynastic run in the 1990s.

Also pictured: CC Sabathia, who teamed up with Jeter to help lead the Yankees to their 27th title in 2009.

Jeter and Jordan have a long-standing friendship, dating back to Jordan's foray into minor league baseball in the mid-90s. The two even joined forces to buy respective stakes in the Miami Marlins back in September 2017.

"MJ is like a brother to me. Our relationship has grown throughout the years, and he’s like an older brother I never had,” Jeter said of Jordan to the YES Network in 2014 (via Yahoo! Sports). “We’ve had a lot of conversations about life and about competing, both on and off the field or court.”

Ewing, meanwhile, is a New York icon in his own right. Though his Knicks teams never got over the championship hump (largely thanks to Jordan), he helped steward the organization's most successful era since its last title in 1973.

Jeter, of course, had plenty of success in the Big Apple, as well. His five World Series rings are one less than his buddy Jordan's six chips with the Bulls, but, with 3,465 career hits, 14 All-Star nods and a slew of legendary postseason moments, he enters the Hall as one of the game's all-time great players.

Greatness that Jordan no doubt appreciates.
