Zach LaVine is putting his love of video games to good use.
Facebook announced Tuesday that LaVine is one of 11 prominent athletes to join a fundraiser sponsored by Facebook Gaming to raise money for COVID-19 relief and social justice.
Throughout the upcoming summer, LaVine and others will livestream video games from Facebook Gaming's page and use a "Live Donate" function to raise funds in real-time. Facebook also said in a release that it will contribute $20,000 to each athlete's charity of choice.

Along with LaVine, Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz), Julian Edelman (New England Patriots), Allie Long (Reign FC), Brittney Griner (Phoenix Mercury), Alex Caruso (Los Angeles Lakers), Bogdan Bogdanovic (Sacramento Kings), JaVale McGee (Los Angeles Lakers), Josh Richardson (Philadelphia 76ers), Deandre Ayton (Phoenix Suns) and Tacko Fall (Boston Celtics) will participate in the initiative.
"Athletes continue to be remarkable forces for good on social media, and we're excited for this particular group to use Facebook Gaming this summer to entertain fans and raise money for incredibly important causes," said Evan Shugerman, Facebook Athlete Sports Partnerships Lead, in a statement.
LaVine recently launched a Twitch account, where he semi-frequently streams Call of Duty Warzone as a means to engage with fans. Now, that mode of connection and entertainment will be put toward worthy causes.
