C.J. McCollum put on quite a show in the first quarter of Wednesday's game in Portland and the Bulls were the unfortunate victim.

The Blazers guard was scorching hot to start the game, lighting up the Bulls for 28 points in the first quarter. McCollum was 11-for-14 from the field, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range and made both of his free throw attempts.

The 28 points are the most the Bulls have given up in a quarter ever.

McCollum's 28 points in a quarter are the most in an NBA game this season and the most in Portland's history. He outscored the Bulls 28-19 in the quarter and the Bulls stared at a 43-19 deficit after 12 minutes.

The Bulls limited McCollum to four points in the second quarter, but mostly because McCollum sat for the first 6:44 of the quarter. He didn't take another shot until 1:16 left in the half, but did finish with a minor flurry of four points in the final 18 seconds of the half.

McCollum woke up in the third with 18 more points to finish with a whopping 50. He didn't even play the fourth quarter despite "We want C.J." chants from the crowd even though the game, which finished 124-108, was well in hand.

McCollum finished 18-for-25 from the field, including 6-for-9 3-pointers and made all eight of his free throws.
