DeRozan shows Bulls appreciation in trade announcement

The Bulls and Spurs on Wednesday announced the sign-and-trade that will send DeMar DeRozan to Chicago and Thad Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a future first-round pick and two future second-rounders to San Antonio.

In turn, DeRozan revved up the hype train and drove it straight out of the station.

Here's how the four-time All-Star conveyed his excitement to join the Bulls, in a tweet sent out before the team could post its own announcement of the transaction:

Your eyes do not deceive you. That's the old, old school Bulls introduction video, soundtracked by Siruis by The Alan Parsons Project. Right out of the gate, DeRozan endeared himself to fans young and old with that nod to the organization's storied history.

He also got a co-sign from Bulls All-Star guard Zach LaVine:

DeRozan was also spotted Tuesday night at the Bulls' Summer League matchup with the Spurs alongside Billy Donovan, Artūras Karnišovas, Marc Eversley and Troy Brown Jr.

The Bulls have now made the DeRozan and Lonzo Ball sign-and-trades, plus the Alex Caruso signing, official. The wait for the 2021-22 season continues.
