Derrick Rose will always be most known for his time with the Chicago Bulls, but his career-high is now with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The last part of that sentence may never sit quite right with Bulls fans, but D-Rose went off on Wednesday. With Jimmy Butler sitting out, Rose went off for 50.
That's right, it's 2018, Derrick Rose is 30 and he just scored 50 in an NBA game. Rose had never scored 50 in a game before.
In fact, he scored more than 40 just three times in his career. All three of those games came in his MVP season of 2010-11. Those three games came within a three-month span as well.
Rose's previous regular season career-high was 42, which he did twice. One of those came against the Spurs and the other was at the Pacers. He also dropped 44 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Hawks in that postseason.
In Wednesday's outburst, Rose was 19-for-31 shooting, including 4-for-7 from behind the arc. It came in a 128-125 win against the Jazz. Rose scored 15 in the fourth quarter, including six in the final minute. He gave Minnesota a lead with 30 seconds left and helped ice the game with a pair of free throws for the final points of the game.
Rose's emotional postgame interview is sure to be a tear-jerker for some Bulls fans as well.
