Friday night represented perhaps as dejected a postgame demeanor as he has presented as a Bull.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>\u201cWe straight up folded,\u201d LaVine said. \u201cThere\u2019s not a lot to talk about.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>But there\u2019s plenty to analyze from the Bulls\u2019 127-125 overtime loss to the Thunder, which, according to ESPN Stats &amp; Info, marked just the second time in 2,932 instances over the last five seasons that a team blew a 10-point lead in the final two minutes of regulation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>\u201cI mean, we\u2019re up 20 points,\u201d LaVine said. \u201cWe have to win that game.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>Twenty-two, actually, in the third quarter. And by 14 with 4:09 remaining in regulation. And by 10 with 1:47 left.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>As painful as the competitive losses in Los Angeles to the Lakers and Clippers were, the Bulls have to be careful this one doesn\u2019t leave a lasting mark.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>\u201cThis one should hurt,\u201d Lauri Markkanen said.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>With 24 turnovers, the Bulls now own three of the NBA\u2019s 10 games this season with 22 or more turnovers. After a stellar first half in which they posted 17 assists to seven turnovers, the Bulls had 18 field goals and 17 turnovers in the second half and overtime.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>\u201cWe just have to do a better job as an entire organization, because we can\u2019t lose games like that. We\u2019ve lost a lot of games this year where we\u2019ve been playing well. Our fourth-quarter execution has to get better. And I take that upon myself. I\u2019ve made a lot of mistakes in the fourth quarter,\u201d LaVine said. \u201cIt\u2019s extremely frustrating. Somehow, some way, even if you play bad, you gotta pull those games out.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span>When there\u2019s an epic collapse of this proportion, there\u2019s plenty of blame to share. To wit:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>LaVine committed one of his six turnovers at that fateful 4:09 mark to start the bleeding<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>Wendell Carter Jr. fouled Mike Muscala on a 3-point attempt with 1:47 left in regulation, leading to three made free throws that trimmed the Thunder\u2019s 10-point deficit<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>Coby White and Lauri Markkanen committed offensive fouls, the latter while setting a screen with 26.9 seconds left&nbsp;that led to the Thunder tying possession<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>White fouled Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the tying 3-point play with 16.4 seconds left<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>LaVine had to hoist a contested 3-pointer at the end of regulation after the Thunder blew up a middle pick-and-roll involving Otto Porter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>The Bulls repeatedly had trouble matching up with shooters in transition, and Muscala burned them for a 3-pointer to open overtime<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n\t<li><span><span><span>For the third time this season, the Bulls didn\u2019t have a timeout late, so LaVine rushed upcourt after George Hill split two free throws with 5.2 seconds left to try a 3-pointer for the win. Unfortunately, Denzel Valentine ran alongside LaVine, bringing an extra defender into play.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cI think these guys are smart guys,\u201d Donovan said. \u201cThey know a lot of this stuff is self-induced.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The Bulls have very little margin of error. Their 4-8 record, and Friday\u2019s monstrous collapse, is evidence.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cT<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>his is a hard-working group; it's a good group of guys,\u201d Donovan said. \u201cThey want to win. They don't know how to. They're learning how to.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cW<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span>e've all got to pull together and work together and try to figure it out because this has been something these guys have dealt with for a while. I'm 12 games into this with them. And as a coach, you feel bad.
